Why We Do What We Do

Happy New Year from Divine Savior Ministries!

'Tis the season of resolutions and fresh starts, planning and reflecting, too. What do I want to do differently this year? What habit could I kick or kickstart? How do I find that tricky balance I'm always searching for? How can I inch a little closer to my aspirations at work or home, in my personal or professional life?

At Divine Savior Ministries, we're kicking off the new year with plans, too. As we look ahead at the year 2020, we're praying for goals like the following:

  • To finish the construction of our new campus in Santa Rita Ranch (Austin, Texas)

  • To grow student enrollment at our Delray Beach campus

  • To launch The Divine Savior School this summer

The list goes on, but there are other goals that we have as an organization, too, deeper than construction projects or new campuses:

  • To improve how we communicate as a growing organization both internally and externally

  • To grow our team, not just in new positions, but as a unified group working together with clear purpose and roles

  • To keep developing our Core Values Project and Staff Support Department

  • To deepen the partnership we have as a church and academy working together to share the Gospel message

At the heart of all these resolutions and plans is something we never want to lose sight of: our mission. Our mission is why we do what we do, and it's based on a familiar calling from the pages of God's Word:

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)

This directive from Jesus to his disciples is the foundation of our ministry's mission statement, and as we begin our new year, it's good to revisit it. Take a moment to remember that whatever you do in this ministry, it serves a great purpose!

God be with you this year as you seek to serve him in whatever role you have. Our prayers are with you. We ask that you keep our entire ministry in your prayers as well, as we move into this new year of God's grace.
